please note: ALL ENTRIES MUST BE DIGITAL.

preparing digital entries:
Artists may submit two digital entries in JPEG format on a standard sized CD or by email to entries@visualartexchange.org. 2D artists may submit one JPEG per entry. 3D artists may submit two JPEGS (one full shot and one detail) per entry. If more than one image is submitted they MUST all be on one CD. All JPEGs must be named with the artist’s last name followed by 01,02, 02b, etc. All CDs/images must be readable by PC platforms. File sizes cannot exceed 2MB and DPI cannot be lower than 72. Images should be oriented correctly. DO NOT submit PowerPoint presentations, automated slide presentations or work on DVD. All CDs must be labeled with the artist’s name and the file names with corresponding titles, mediums, and dimensions.

notification: 
Accepted entries will be posted on www.visualartexchange.org by the end of the day on December 12, 2011.

Accepted work must remain through the entire exhibit. Works not picked up by their respective deadlines will be charged a $5 per day fee for storage.

entry fees:
members…………$10 per artwork/$20 for two pieces*
non-members…………$15 per artwork/$30 for two pieces*

*All entry fees are non-refundable.

The show is open to two and three dimensional works of art. Work must be original and completed in the last 2 years. No copies, mechanical reproductions, molds or kit work will be accepted. All work cannot exceed 72″ in any dimension (including frame). 2D work cannot weigh more than 75 lbs. Visual Art Exchange reserves the right to exclude work due to size or special requirements. All two-dimensional work must be dry, wired and ready to hang. No clip frames or alligator hangers. Photographs and matted works on paper should be single matted with a white or similar neutral mat. Entries must be hand delivered to the gallery or mailed with return postage pre-paid in returnable container. Artwork submitted on behalf of an artist requires written and signed authorization from the artist.

Accepted artists must submit a copy of their resume and/or artist statement by the delivery deadline to entries@visualartexchange.org.

shipping artwork:
Include return postage or shipping fees and sturdy, reusable packing materials clearly labeled with your name and telephone number. Framed works requiring glass must use plexiglass. Do not use styrofoam packing peanuts. Shipments of artwork will be accepted December 19-22. Hand delivered work will be accepted December 19-20 during regular gallery hours (11am-4pm).

sales:
Visual Art Exchange will retain a commission of 30% for VAE members, 50% for non-members on all work sold during the exhibit. If a work is not for sale please indicate with NFS value in appropriate space on consignment sheet. To join VAE, visit http://visualartexchange.org/support/membership/.

eligibility:
Contemporary South is open to all living artists. A maximum of 2 works of any medium, per artist may be submitted. All works must be original and completed in within 2 years of the entry date (December 1).

liability:
All entries will be handled with the best care possible, but VAE is not responsible for loss or damage of any cause. By entering into this show, the artist agrees to abide by all rules and regulations as set by exhibition guidelines.
Artists: Entries must be received by December 1, 2011. Accepted artists will be notified by December 12, 2011.
