Art Exchange Residencies

Visual Art Exchange’s ‘Art Exchange’ project is an intensive artist residency program. VAE and the artist-in-residences work with students from Raleigh’s Mary Phillips (MPHS),  Longview High Schools  (LVHS) and Washington G.T. Magnet Elementary School to create a mixed media mural in Raleigh’s City Market neighborhood and a series of murals at Washington GT’s courtyard. The ‘Art Exchange’ project allows students the opportunity to connect with their community and create a lasting, positive impression.

Young Art Exhibit

Each year VAE produces the Young Artists Exhibit to encourage young artists in Wake County. The 2011 exhibition will be the 23rd annual showcase of student artists. The exhibit features the work of about 250 Wake County elementary, middle and high school students from public, charter, private and home schools. VAE is proud to display the work selected by teachers, in all media and to encourage these talented young artists.

The High School and Middle School artwork is displayed in VAE’s city market gallery and Marbles Kids Museum for the month of November and the Elementary School work is displayed at Marble Kids Museum from November – December.
