VAE needs your support!

Visual Art Exchange is a non-profit creativity incubator and gallery that supports and educates emerging, professional and student artists. Each year VAE exhibits the work of more than 900 artists in 60 exhibitions and hosts more than 55 educational programs. VAE also is the force behind SPARKcon, an interdisciplinary art and design festival in Downtown Raleigh that is planned by a team of community volunteers who want to showcase the Triangle’s creative class.

  • VAE is growing! VAE has grown to meet the demands of the artist community in Raleigh. VAE moved into a new, larger home during the summer of 2011, which allows VAE to further expand its role in incubating artists and creating community programming.
  • VAE incubates creativity. Through 55+ education programs focused on building business skills and an exhibition program that showcases the work of emerging artists, VAE helps creative individuals create opportunities for themselves.
  • VAE supports artists and connects the community to the arts Each year, more than 900 artists participate in VAE exhibitions. VAE has two exhibitions, the N.E.W show and Scope, The North Carolina Landscape Exhibition, which attract artists from across the Southeast.
  • VAE’s innovative programs create the next generation of artists. VAE’s education program, The Exchange Mural Program, reaches 70 at-risk students through an artist residency program and public art projects. VAE also hosts an annual exhibition of Wake County student work and gives two scholarships to high school seniors.
  • VAE is the force behind SPARKcon, an interdisciplinary art and design festival and conference that showcases 1,700+ artists each fall and is attended by 25,000 people. Organizers and talent volunteer their time and creativity to plan the event, which in turn empowers them as community leaders.
