This program provides an innovative, intensive artist residency projects for two Wake County Alternative Schools, Mary E. Phillips High School and The Longview School.
Students will work with artist Adam Peele to create a large, mural that will be displayed in City Market for one year. The project uses an open-source approach, which allows each student to make a personal contribution to a cohesive whole. The residency encourages creativity, learning and occupations in the arts, technical skills and team building and gives VAE the opportunity to support and encourage at-risk youth and connect the community to the arts
